The cousin of one of our team members is battling a devastating and degenerative combination of medical conditions, and we need your help to get her the treatment that has renewed her hope and could save her life!
19 year old Roisin was born with Cystic Fibrosis and was recently diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. The combination of these two conditions has caused a very sudden, rapid decline in her health. She is now dependent on a wheelchair and oxygen tank, which she cannot physically carry herself, and has to spend most of her time in a hospital over 50 miles from her home, friends, and family. With the additional diagnosis of PH, Roisin’s quality of life and prognosis have significantly deteriorated.
When Roisin stopped responding to treatment, it was believed that the only option for her was a double lung transplant. Sadly, 1 in 3 CF patients dying whilst on the transplant waiting list. With the complications from her PH, Roisin’s fate was looking grim.
However, there is a new, alternative treatment to lung transplants which helps repair and heal the damaged lung tissues as well as provide healthy, working cells which will slow down the progress of the CF. This treatment involves harvesting adult stem cells from Roisin’s bone marrow and that of a genetic relative who does not suffer from CF, mixing the two, educating and activating them to become lung cells, then putting these new stem cells back into Roisin via an IV line.
This treatment has lifted Roisin’s spirits and given her the strength to keep fighting what she thought before was an impossible battle. It also means any donated lungs can go to someone who doesn’t have any other options, as this treatment is not a viable option for everyone.
Unfortunately, this treatment is expensive. Roisin needs to raise £55,000 (about $89,000) as quickly as possible to have a chance at saving her life. We’re racing against the clock as Roisin’s health worsens, and any effort is greatly appreciated!

sometimes i wish supernatural wasn’t on the CW for the sole reason that I really just want to hear Dean say "fucking" instead of “friggin’”

cause you know that boy curses like a sailor.
